Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia met Lazar Comanescu, Secretary-General of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC).
The dignitaries highlighted Georgia’s important role in the activities of the Organization as a founding member of BSEC and its current Chairmanship-in-Office and reviewed priorities for future cooperation.
The Prime Minister of Georgia spoke about the growing importance of the Middle Corridor, the development of Georgia’s transit function and the major infrastructure projects being implemented by the Government of Georgia in this direction. Particular attention was paid to the East-West Highway (EWH), the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) railway and the Anaklia Deep Sea Port project.
As the Head of Government of Georgia noted, the Black Sea plays a crucial role in the development of Georgia`s transit potential.
The meeting, held at the Government Administration, was attended by Maka Botchorishvili, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and Levan Zhorzholiani, Head of Government Administration.
