Former Deputy Minister of Health to be formally charged today

The former Deputy Minister of Health, who was detained for abuse of office, is to be formally charged today.

According to the investigation, Ilia Ghudushauri`s arrest is related to the tender announced for the purchase of ambulances in 2022-23 and its illegal termination.

Until the evidence is reviewed, the detainee`s rights defender cannot discuss specific details of the case.

Ilia Ghudushauri was the Deputy Minister of Health during the period of Zurab Azarashvili. From 2022 to March 2024, he headed the financial and economic direction of the agency.
