We are signing an agreement with a French ADP Groupe on the expansion of Tbilisi International Airport, under which an investment of 150 million USD will be made to expand the landmark facility. This will ensure an increase in passenger traffic, continuous improvement of services and the creation of a comfortable and safe environment for passengers. It was stated by Prime Minister of Georgia while speaking at the presentation of the Tbilisi International Airport [TIA] expansion project.

As he noted, under the agreement, TAV-a company owned by ADP Groupe -will continue to manage the airport for an additional 5 years, until the end of 2031, until the construction of the new TIA in Vaziani is completed.

“TIA is one of the country’s most important strategic infrastructure facilities, plays a special role in the development of the economy and tourism. The significance of the airport’s expansion becomes even more evident given that 2025 was a record year for the development of tourism and aviation in Georgia. Last year, the country recorded 5.5 million tourist visits, which is a historic high. Georgia’s 3 international airports welcomed 8.5 million passengers in 2025 - another record-high figure. The rapid development of Georgia’s economy and specifically the tourism and aviation sectors, has enabled new airlines to enter the market, new routes to be added, a significant increase in Georgia’s connectivity with leading global aviation hubs, a further strengthening of our country’s role in both the regional and global aviation space. We are creating conditions where investment, innovation, high standards align and where the state acts as a guarantor of stability and fair rules. This approach allows us, through future-oriented steps, to strengthen the country’s role in international aviation and ensure sustainable benefits for every citizen of Georgia”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
