From January 9 to the morning of January 10, rain is expected in Western Georgia, with strong thunderstorms in some places, possible wind strengthening and storm surges of 3-4 points at sea. The National Environment Agency has issued a warning about the expected bad weather.

Snowfall, in some places heavy, fog, blizzards and avalanche danger are expected in the high mountainous regions of the country. Due to heavy snowfall, blizzards, poor visibility, loose ice and avalanche danger, traffic may be restricted on certain sections of roads.

The expected precipitation may significantly increase the water levels in the rivers of Western Georgia, and cause the onset and activation of landslide-sandstorm processes in hilly and mountainous areas (danger level medium).
