Police have foiled the illegal import of a particularly large amount of narcotics into Georgia - 2 foreign citizens detained

Employees of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Customs Department of the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance have detained 2 foreign citizens - H.I., born in 2005, and B.M., born in 1989, on charges of illegal purchase, storage and importation of a particularly large amount of narcotics into Georgia.

Law enforcement officers at Tbilisi International Airport, as a result of checking the luggage of the detainees, seized 1 kilogram and 200 grams of the drug "marijuana" and 91 electronic cigarettes, which contained a liquid containing a narcotic substance, placed in hermetically sealed packages.

The investigation is underway under Articles 260 and 262 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which provides for up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
