Based on data from the first 11 months of 2025, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has expelled 1,131 illegal migrants from Georgia, a figure that matches the total for the previous 7 years. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of Georgia.

"In recent months, the effectiveness of the Ministry of Internal Affairs [MIA] has significantly increased, especially in areas such as combating organized crime, corruption-related crime and drug-related crime. The same applies to the fight against illegal migration, where we have impressive indicators.

According to data for the first 11 months of this year, the MIA deported 1131 illegal migrants from Georgia. This number equals the combined total of the past seven years. Effectiveness has increased substantially, but the Migration Department of the Ministry still needs to be strengthened further, and the Minister and the MIA are actively working on this.

Naturally, all of this will be reflected in future efforts against illegal migration. According to the plan presented by the MIA, at least 3500 illegal migrants will be deported next year. This is the minimum figure. Overall, according to this plan, in 3-4 years the problem of illegal migration will be fully eliminated, which is important also from a security standpoint. I thank the Minister of Internal Affairs and the MIA for the work already done and for their future plans", - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
