Prime Minister of Georgia meets President of Armenia

Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia met Vahagn Khachaturyan, President of the Republic Armenia who is paying an official visit to Georgia.

During the face-to-face meeting, attention was focused on the long-standing good neighborly relations between Georgia and Armenia and the positive dynamics of developing their strategic partnership. The special importance of peace and stability in the region was emphasized. Irakli Kobakhidze thanked Vahagn Khachaturyan for his visit to Georgia and for his support.

"We are thrilled that relations between our countries are developing dynamically. Of course, the frequent exchange of high-level visits is also proof of this. Thank you for coming to Georgia; your personal support is very important to us. Our relations are developing very dynamically, both politically and economically across various fields. We have very close cooperation with the Government of Armenia. We are confident that with this dynamic and these pace, we will achieve significant success in the future in terms of the further development of our relations"", - said Irakli Kobakhidze.

The President of Armenia thanked the Georgian authorities for the warm welcome. He focused on the further deepening of bilateral relations: “Many thanks to the authorities of Georgia for the warm reception. I arrived yesterday and already feel as if I have always been here. This is due to the attention shown to us and the environment created for us here. I am confident that this is also conditioned by the personal relations between our prime ministers, reliable partnership and I am certain that high-level meetings strengthen our relations and also create new opportunities for us. We are doing our best to support the strengthening and deepening of bilateral relations. Rest assured that there will be no change in the attitudes and approaches of the Armenian side. Our shared desire is for peace and stability in the region and internal political resilience. I believe that our populations, both in Georgia and Armenia, will appreciate the efforts of our governments aimed at reinforcing the sovereignty and independence of our countries".

Following the face-to-face meeting, the Prime Minister of Georgia, together with members of the government, hosted the President of Armenia and his delegation at an official luncheon.
