Georgia is standing ready to continue contributing to regional peace and stability, such efforts can bring only positive long-term outcomes. Such a statement the President of Georgia made at a joint briefing with his Armenian counterpart, Vahagn Khachaturyan.

“This historic agreement [the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace agreement reached on 8 August in Washington] opens new perspectives for the long-term development of the South Caucasus.

Georgia is, of course, ready to contribute to strengthening peace and stability in the region, which, in the long-term perspective, can yield only positive results.

I believe our cooperation, friendship, and partnership will continue in the spirit of the exemplary relations established between our countries”, - said Mikheil Kavelashvili.
