Varlam Avaliani has been appointed as Georgia`s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the State of Qatar.

In 2021-2025, he was the General Director of the Media Holding, which unites the TV company "Rustavi 2" and several media platforms.

In 2019-2021, Varlam Avaliani was the Executive Director of "Studio Maestro".

In 2012-2014, he held the positions of Advisor and Deputy Minister of Defense of Georgia.

In 2014-2018, Avaliani worked as a communications consultant in consulting companies.

In 1999-2013, he was a journalist in various broadcasting companies of Georgia.
