Police seized firearms and ammunition in Tbilisi - 1 person arrested

As a result of operational measures and investigative actions, officers of Vake-Saburtalo Main Division under Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, detained K.Kh. born in 1987, with multiple previous convictions.

He is charged with illegal acquisition and storage of firearms and ammunition.

The committed crimes envision up to 6 years of imprisonment.

Based on operational information, law enforcement officers seized various types of firearms and ammunition during a search of K.Kh.’s residence 4 firearms, a revolver, a machine gun, a silencer, 82 cartridges, 6 clips and 200 grams of the explosive substance “Trontil” was detected as well.

As a result of the investigation, the police arrested K.Kh. as an accused person.

The investigation is ongoing under Article 236, Part III of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
