Lasha Khutsishvili, Minister of Finance of Georgia and Natia Turnava, President of the National Bank of Georgia (NBG) met Antonella Bassani, Vice President of the World Bank for Europe and Central Asia within the scope of the Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank in D.C.

The parties reviewed ongoing and planned projects in the public and private sectors of Georgia supported by the World Bank in areas such as the development of road infrastructure and the promotion of connectivity, the strengthening of human capital and others.

The Minister of Finance of Georgia briefed the World Bank Vice-President on the current macroeconomic stance in the country and the medium-term forecasts.

As commonly known, the World Bank recently raised Georgia’s economic growth forecast to 7%.

The Vice-President of the World Bank emphasized the importance of cooperation with Georgia and expressed hope that the projects supported by the Bank would contribute to the sustainable development of the country’s economy.

Meeting was attended by Rolande Pryce, World Bank Regional Director for the South Caucasus; Ekaterine Guntsadze, Deputy Minister of Finance of Georgia; Vakhtang Tsintsadze, Deputy Minister of Economy and Tamar Taliashvili, Ambassador of Georgia to the US.
