Ministry of Internal Affairs arrests 1 person on charges of human trafficking

As a result of operational measures and investigative actions, officers of Anti-Trafficking and Illegal Migration Division under the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, N.G., born in 1971, was arrested on charges of human trafficking.

The committed crime envisions up to 12 years of imprisonment.

The investigation established that N.G. recruited I.Sh., born in 1981, who was in material need, in order to gain financial gain, and forced him to work as a loader in his fruit and vegetable store using physical and psychological violence, for which he did not pay any money.

It is also established that after I.Sh. finished work at the store, under the instruction of the accused person, would ask money to car drivers stopped at a traffic light on one of the streets in Tbilisi, and N.G. would receive the entire amount earned this way.

The investigation is underway under Article 143 part I of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
