Mariam Kvrivishvili nominated Bakur Mikadze as Head of the Georgian Land Transport Agency

Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development has nominated Bakur Mikadze as Head of the Land Transport Agency of Georgia.

As Mariam Kvrivishvili stated, the Land Transport Agency has an important function in further developing the country"s transport potential.

“Georgia is at the crossroads of regional transit routes, and for stable, safe cargo service, a well-functioning infrastructure and effective management systems are necessary. The smooth functioning of the transport market ensures the attraction of more cargo in the middle corridor, which will have a positive impact on both the country"s economic sustainability and the revenues received from the sector”, - said the Minister.

She focused on greater transparency of the processes taking place in the land transport sector and effective management of the agency, wished the new Head of the Agency success in his future activities.

The new head of the Land Transport Agency has extensive experience in working in leadership positions in the public sector. He is an associate professor at the University of Business and Technology and an assistant professor at the Georgian Technical University. Bakur Mikadze holds a Doctors Degree in Law and international Relations, as well as a Master’s Degree in Jurisprudence.
