In a world where peace and stability have become increasingly difficult to uphold, Georgia stands as one of the most compelling examples of success - a success to which each member of the State Security Service of Georgia [SSSG] has made an exceptional contribution. This was the key message delivered the Prime Minister of Georgia during his address at the official ceremony marking the 10th anniversary of the State Security Service.

Joined by President Mikheil Kavelashvili and Speaker of Parliament Shalva Papuashvili, the Prime Minister of Georgia extended heartfelt congratulations to the leadership and every employee of the SSSG, expressing deep gratitude for their vital role in strengthening the country’s peace and stability.

“In today’s world, where peace and stability are among the greatest challenges, Georgia serves as a powerful example of success - a success made possible thanks to the unwavering commitment and professionalism of each and every one of you. Your tireless efforts have allowed the state to effectively neutralize numerous internal and external threats aimed at creating political destabilization and forcibly overthrowing the government.

Through your work, the country has overcome major crises that threatened not only Georgia’s security but that of the entire region. Amid the complex geopolitical environment of the Black Sea region, Georgia continues to face serious challenges. One of the most persistent sources of threat remains the ongoing occupation of our regions. Your continued efforts play a critical role in maintaining stability along the occupation line. Equally significant is your contribution to securing the release of illegally detained citizens and defending the rights of our compatriots living in the occupied territories. Anri, I would also like to specifically highlight your personal commitment and that of your agency in combating corruption. Corruption is a grave threat to the state - it undermines the efficiency of public institutions, erodes public trust in government, and obstructs national development. We will not tolerate this. Strengthening effective anti-corruption mechanisms remains a top priority, and your agency plays a key role in this endeavor. I wish to reaffirm the Government’s full support in this mission”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.

President and Speaker of Parliament also extended their congratulations to the staff of the SSSG on this important milestone.

Head of the SSSG, Anri Okhanashvili, delivered a summary of the agency’s activities and outlined future objectives, expressing gratitude to the Government and Parliament for their ongoing support.

To mark the 10th anniversary of the agency’s founding, Anri Okhanashvili presented state awards of various degrees to employees of the SSSG. A total of 328 staff members were awarded the First Degree and Honorary Medals of the Service in recognition of their dedication and service.
