Mayor of Tbilisi criticised the MEGOBARI Act, calling it a document filled with "lies and defamation".
As Kakha Kaladze said, he was unsure what the final decision regarding the Act would be but asserted that the document was "completely saturated with falsehoods, defamation, and lies".
"A total of USD 360,000 has been paid, and a specific congressman, the honourable Wilson, has received USD 87,000 for blackening Georgia`s name and filling this document with false information. This is the given situation, the reality, and this is the truth that became known through the FARA law.
Now it is clear for everyone why there was such resistance to adopting a FARA-type law in Georgia.
This law wouldn`t even be necessary if we hadn`t seen repeated attacks and attempts to destabilise the country in recent years. But they will not succeed - together with the people, we will protect the interests of Georgia and the Georgian people", - said the Mayor.
