Shalva Papuashvili meets with the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister

Speaker of the Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, held a meeting with the Foreign Affairs Minister of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov.

As noted, the Georgia-Azerbaijan relations are exceptionally successful and are predicated on the enduring cooperation and friendship between the two nations.

The parties unequivocally expressed their support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of both nations and provided a favourable evaluation of the bilateral visits.

The Minister emphasised that this was his third visit to the Georgian Parliament. He recalled that the President of Georgia and the Prime Minister had made their first official visits to Azerbaijan, which underscores the strong friendship between the two nations.

The discourse encompassed the bilateral and multilateral relations. Shalva Papuashvili accentuated the productive Parliamentary ties.

The escalating geopolitical and geoeconomic significance of the middle corridor, coupled with the substantial potential of the strategic transport-energy projects, was underscored. The deliberations touched upon the developments in the South Caucasus and a wider region. The two sides dwelt on the peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia and underscored the significance of the regional peace.

The meeting was attended by MPs, the members of the Georgia-Azerbaijan Friendship Group: Irakli Kadagishvili, Savalan Mirzoev, and Zaur Dargali
