European future is based on freedom of speech and expression, on justice, today`s European bureaucracy is devoid of all of this - Kaladze

Mayor of Tbilisi criticized the latest resolution of the European Parliament [EP] concerning Georgia, stating that "today`s Europe is practically devoid of fairness and foundational principles that are important to us".

“We know how these resolutions are written - lies, pure lies. These are paid efforts. They say Mikheil Saakashvili should be released, even though the European Court itself recognized the charges against him. They defend individuals like Mzia Amaghlobeli, despite clear evidence of her attacking a police officer. They tell us that white is black.

Today’s Europe is practically devoid of fairness and foundational principles that are important to us. The European future is meant to be built on freedom of speech, expression, and justice - yet today`s European bureaucracy is clearly detached from these very principles.

It`s extremely concerning when high-ranking EU representatives or certain embassies support actions that undermine institutions. When police officers are attacked with Molotov cocktails or insulted, and these actions are endorsed, it`s a serious problem. Such support from Western actors fueled polarisation and extremism, undermining Georgia’s democratic stability – said Kakha Kaladze.
