The Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia charged 9 persons with degrading and inhuman treatment of a minor.

An investigation conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs established that members of a group with so-called Fascist ideology, because of the past disagreement, deceitfully took the minor to one of the abandoned buildings in Tbilisi, in accordance with a prefabricated plan.

The accused forced the minor with verbal abuse and threat of using knives and pistols to kneel down, and inflicted injuries on various parts of the kneeled minor’s body, and physically and verbally abused the minor.

In addition, by using the pistols and knives, with actions insulting an honor, they made the kneeled victim to apologize by a video-call to a so-called Leader of the group. The video showing the actions that insult the honor was taken with a mobile phone and uploaded onto social network by the accused. This action made the victim feel strong physical and mental pain as well as moral suffering.

Law enforcement officers detained the so-called leader of the group and eight persons who participated in the crime.

They were charged under Article 1442 (part 2, sub-clauses “e” and “g”: degrading a person, placing a person into inhuman condition insulting a person’s honor that causes a strong physical, mental pain and moral suffering, committed by a group, knowingly, against a minor) of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages the imprisonment for up to 10 years as a measure of punishment.

Based on the motion of the Prosecutor’s Office, Tbilisi City Court imposed the arrest on all of the nine accused as a measure of restraint.
