
Prime Minister of Georgia met with representatives of the business sector in order to discuss the country`s economic trends and future development.
The meeting, attended by over 80 business leaders from various sectors, focused on Georgia`s leading position in economic growth within the wider region and Europe
Irakli Kobakhidze underlined that robust economic development is crucial for strengthening Georgia`s international standing and affirmed that this direction will remain a top priority.
He highlighted the significant progress in reducing poverty and increasing employment, noting that 68,000 new jobs were created in 2024. Head of the Government attributed this success largely to the business community`s contributions, thanking them for their role in job creation. He also pointed to positive fiscal indicators, including low inflation and the stability of the national currency. As Irakli Kobakhidze said, the Government is actively working to further accelerate economic growth.
A key focus of the discussion was the government`s ongoing efforts to minimize corruption. Prime Minister detailed steps taken, including personnel decisions, stressing that corruption hinders economic development.
He underscored the Government`s political will to reduce corruption to its lowest possible level, prioritizing integrity in staffing changes.
Head of the Government elaborated on recent measures implemented for greater transparency and efficiency, such as ensuring the transparency of all Government legal acts, ending the practice of direct sales of real estate, and implementing detailed control over large procurements, overseen by the Government Efficiency Department.
