By decision of the Prime Minister, the national judo team of Georgia will receive a monetary award of 1 million GEL in recognition of their World Championship title.

“Sport is one of the fields where we can raise our national flag at the highest level and perform our national anthem with pride. Thank you for the great joy you have brought us.

We often say that Georgia enjoys profound success in sports. For the first time, we have simultaneously become world and European champions in the mixed team competition.

We currently hold both titles, and for that, we are especially grateful. We are working actively to promote the development of sports across the country.

One of our key initiatives is the establishment of multifunctional sports centers nationwide. These centers will foster both mass participation in sports and high-performance athletics. Judo will be given special attention in the final development plan of these multifunctional centers”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
