The Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed strong confidence in Tamar Taliashvili’s appointment as Georgia’s Ambassador to the US.
“Tamar is a highly professional, experienced diplomat, and of course, she enjoys a great deal of political trust from both me and the Government. It is very important when an ambassador represents the country in a specific nation, in this case, the US. I am confident that she will be a very successful ambassador and will make a significant contribution to strengthening relations between Georgia and the US.
The appointment and deployment of an Ambassador to a country is a very important matter in bilateral relations. The process related to Ms. Tamar Taliashvili’s appointment has been completed. On June 4, we received the final agreement from the US, which gives us the opportunity to have the Ambassador travel to Washington in the shortest possible time and start working on important issues in Georgia-US relations.
This is, of course, very significant. The issuance of the agreement by the United States is also gratifying for us, as the candidate we proposed and nominated was acceptable to them and has been confirmed. This is, of course, another good moment to look at Georgia-US relations with fresh eyes, from a new page”, - said Maka Botchorishvili.
