Maka Botchorishvili meets Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister

As part of the political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and Turkey, Georgian Foreign Minister met with the Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister.

Maka Botchorishvili and Berris Ekinci highlighted the close friendship and strong strategic partnership between Georgia and Turkey. The ongoing positive dynamic of high-level visits was also noted, with both parties welcoming the upcoming session of the Georgia-Turkey Intergovernmental Joint Economic Commission, scheduled to be held in Tbilisi this July.

Economic cooperation between the countries was assessed positively, with an emphasis on the need to fully utilise the existing potential in order to further strengthen the partnership.

The discussion also addressed successful cooperation within regional formats, particularly the Georgia-Turkey-Azerbaijan trilateral framework. The importance of advancing the Middle Corridor and effectively implementing strategic projects was underscored.

Security developments in the region were also discussed, with both sides emphasising the importance of Georgia–Turkey cooperation for sustainable and stable regional development.
