Tbilisi City Court placed Nika Melia in pretrial detention for refusing to pay the bail

Tbilisi City Court placed Ahali party co-chair and Coalition for Change leader Nika Melia in pretrial detention for refusing to pay the bail imposed for defying the Parliament`s temporary investigative commission’s summons.

The judge thus satisfied the Prosecutor`s motion.

Melia did not attend the announcement of the decision, because before the announcement he threw water on judge Irakli Shvangiradze, after which he was expelled from the courtroom.
