Chairman of the Committee on European Integration of the Georgian Parliament responds on the US President Donald Trump’s congratulatory letter to Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili, calling it “undoubtedly an important document that should once and for all put an end to the political propaganda our opposition continues to promote regarding so-called recognition or non-recognition of the Government”.

As Levan Makhashvili thinks, any rational observer should recognise this as nothing more than political propaganda.

“Of course, the President’s congratulatory letter is an important document, and it is encouraging that the President of Georgia received it. At the same time, it is important that this also be reflected in the US’ new political approach. In this regard, we have rather positive expectations and, once again, we will await the reset of relations with the US with cautious optimism”, - said Levan Makhashvili.
