Gela Geladze appointed Minister of Internal Affairs

The Prime Minister of Georgia announced that Gela Geladze will assume the role of Minister of Internal Affairs, succeeding Vakhtang Gomelauri.

Gela Geladze, formerly serving as Deputy Head of the State Security Service of Georgia, is set to lead Ministry of Internal Affairs [MIA].

“It is a profound honour to lead the MIA alongside dedicated police officers and ministry staff, united in our commitment to serve the country and its people.

I wish to thank Irakli Kobakhidze for his confidence and the entire Georgian Dream team for their support. I also want to extend my respectful appreciation to Vakhtang Gomelauri, whose significant contributions have greatly advanced the reforms of the MIA in recent years. It is a great privilege to assume this responsibility and work together with honourable officers and staff to serve our nation”, - said Gela Geladze.
