US Embassy in Georgia lifts security alert regarding the 3 shopping malls in Tbilisi

The US Embassy in Georgia released a new statement informing American citizens that the security precautions related to 3 shopping centers in Tbilisi - East Point, Galleria Tbilisi, and Tbilisi Mall - have been lifted.

“Subsequent to the Alert sent by the US Embassy on May 7, Georgian law enforcement advised Embassy Tbilisi last night that no explosive devices were located at any of the three malls.

The Regional Security Office has lifted its recommendation that Embassy staff avoid those locations”, - reads the statement.

The Embassy urges the US citizens to stay alert, monitor local media, and remain aware of their surroundings.

On Wednesday, May 7, the US Embassy released a warning to its citizens stating that it received information about a potential bomb threat in 3 shopping malls.
