Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, highlighted the significance of President Mikheil Kavelashvili’s first official visit to Azerbaijan, calling it a clear demonstration of the strategic partnership between the two countries.
“Azerbaijan is an important neighbour and strategic partner for Georgia. The fact that the President’s first official visit is made to Azerbaijan underscores the partnership that exists between Georgia and Azerbaijan.
We will discuss key areas that form the foundation of our strategic partnership. Around 30 years ago, when our modern republics began their paths to independence, the role that our country and the entire region now plays – serving as a bridge between the West and the East – was already relevant, and today it is even more so. The Middle Corridor is becoming increasingly important for a range of our partners. Naturally, this is one of the topics of discussion between Azerbaijan and Georgia”, - said Lasha Darsalia.
