The Human Rights and Civil Integrity Committee discussed the Draft Law on Gender Equality.

According to David Matikashvili, the Chair of the Procedural Issues and Rules Committee, the amendments modify the title of the Law and replace the term “gender equality” with “equality between men and women”.

“The term “equality between men and women” shall be defined as a human rights part, which implies equal rights and obligations of men and women, their responsibilities and equal participation in personal and public life spheres”, - the reporter elucidated.

The Committee endorsed the Draft.
