We knew all this very well that in the end, USAID did not serve the interests of Georgia or even the American people, but served a specific agenda that was far from the national interests of our state. This is how Rati Ionatamishvili, Chairman of the Parliament’s Committee on Human Rights and Civil Integration, responds to the events surrounding USAID.
“The first decision of the [Donald] Trump administration was to close USAID, and now we are already hearing that these programs should be investigated. Among them, these statements are being made in the US Congress, and we think that our society will learn even more interesting stories.
However, we knew all this very well that in the end, USAID did not serve the interests of Georgia or even the American people, but served a specific agenda that was far from the national interests of our state”, - said Rati Ionatamishvili.
