Republican lawmaker Taylor Greene’s statement in Congress, in which she said that USAID funding should be canceled, was followed by assessments in the Georgian political spectrum.

According to Teona Akubardia, member of the Gakharia for Georgia party, one cannot speak about USAID’s activities without confirming specific facts.

“A political statement by one congresswoman does not mean a final conclusion and a final assessment of USAID’s activities, including in Georgia. There is no such conclusion that would be objective and not political. A specific fact requires investigation, just like specific facts. The main thing is that USAID has provided significant support to Georgia for years”, - said Teona Akubardia.
