The members of the working group established at the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia under the leadership of Levan Mgaloblishvili, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia are in western Georgia. They visited IDP settlements and together with the representatives of local authorities are assessing on the ground the problems caused by the heavy snowfall.

Levan Mgaloblishvili visited the village of Potskho-Etseri, Tsalenjikha municipality where he met temporarily internally displaced persons from Abkhazia affected by this disaster. The Chairman personally assessed the challenges existing on the ground.

The members of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia visited various municipalities of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region in order to identify the necessities caused by the heavy snowfall.

Lasha Dolbadze, Minister of Finance and Economy of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia held meetings in Zugdidi. Lasha Kardava, Minister of Health and Social Affairs of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia met with the IDPs in Potskho-Etseri. David Morgoshia, Minister of Education and Culture of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia met with the IDPs in Abasha and Senaki. Giorgi Dzigua, Minister of Justice and Civil Integration of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia assessed the neeeds of the IDPs in Martvili, Chkhorotsku and Poti. Giorgi Buliskeria, Deputy Minister of IDPs of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia met with the temporarily internally displaced persons in Martvili and Chkhorotsku. By the initiative of Levan Mgaloblishvili the IDPs at all locations were provided with products according to their needs.

Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia together with the Ministers and the representatives of local authorities are discussing the information received during the day in the framework of a working meeting.

The reaction on the identified challenges and needs is under the active coordination with the central authorities.
