The President of Georgia responds to tomorrow’s [December 14] elections for the VI president of Georgia.
“What will happen tomorrow in the parliament is a parody - it will be an event that is completely devoid of legitimacy, is unconstitutional and illegitimate!
Everything is a parody, even what is happening today, that the People’s Power leaves the Georgian Dream, then it returns, and the President is appointed from there. All this has nothing to do with the political process. This is the saddest thing, because the state has been made a parody. This is very offensive to everyone.
This is a kind of provoking people’s reactions, because it is an insult to everything - our past, traditions, culture, to treat the institutions of an independent country like this. This is unacceptable!
But all this does not matter - they will remain a parody. The main thing is happening elsewhere - in our streets and cities”, - said Salome Zourabichvili.
