The Deputy Ministers of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Lasha Dolidze and Lasha Avaliani, met with peach and nectarine producers and exporters to review the ongoing export season, discuss sectoral challenges, and consider possible solutions.

During the meeting, the parties focused on supplying high-quality produce to export markets and enhancing the competitiveness of Georgian products. The participants also discussed measures to increase yields, replace low-productivity varieties, renovate aging orchards, and improve access to high-quality planting material.

"The peach and nectarine export season is coming to an end. At this stage, according to various data, slightly more than 1,000 tonnes of produce remain to be exported to international markets. Overall, the season has progressed successfully. While there were some disruptions, the final results are satisfactory in terms of both the volume of produce marketed and the prices received.

At the same time, this season has once again demonstrated that further strengthening the sector requires a strong focus on improving product quality and increasing yields. It is essential to plan specific measures and activities in this direction that will help farmers improve production and create even greater opportunities for Georgian products in international markets", - said Dolidze.

From May 1 to September 13, 2026, Georgia exported 22.8 thousand tonnes of peaches and nectarines, amounting to USD 28.1 million. During this period, the average export price of peaches and nectarines was USD 1.23 per kilogram. Russia was the principal export destination for Georgian peaches and nectarines, accounting for 21,468 tonnes, followed by Armenia with 883 tonnes, Ukraine with 259 tonnes, and Belarus with 178 tonnes.
