We are well aware of the current processes within the United National Movement [UNM], said today Executive Secretary of the People`s Power party, MP Guram Macharashvili.

"From a legal standpoint, they are facing their end, both legally and practically. They no longer have supporters. In this sinking vessel, it hardly matters who might become the captain. I can assure you of one thing: my candidacy will certainly not be considered there. The rest is of no concern to us, nor to the rest of Georgia.

The radical opposition had neither plan nor unity; they never truly had either and never will. Many of their so-called leaders admit this themselves, because the so-called radical opposition is in disarray.

We, along with the vast majority of Georgian society, do not think about this. Our focus is on Georgia`s future.

Georgia and the UNM are pursuing entirely different agendas. When the UNM was in power, they aimed to cultivate a new Georgian identity, while Georgia`s fundamental goal was to preserve its Georgian character", - said Macharashvili explained.

While commenting on the opposition`s efforts to unify, he added: "They no longer kick those who have fallen, so I do not speak much about them any longer. They themselves admit that their political career is over. That`s precisely why they have almost no supporters left, because of their anti-Georgian policies. The slogan, “The worse for Georgia, the better for the UNM", persists. That`s why their approval ratings in the country are now 0".
