Given the Vatican`s role in global processes, it is very important to meet with the Pope today, discuss important issues of relations between Georgia and the Vatican. Such a statement made the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.

"The relationships that have developed over the years between Georgia and the Vatican are precious to us. Considering that the Catholic world now has a new Pope, his meeting with the Prime Minister of Georgia is especially important, as well as discussing all the key issues that are relevant for Georgia in light of global and regional developments.

The Vatican plays an important role in promoting peace, particularly against the backdrop of the processes unfolding around the region", - said Maka Botchorishvili.
