Thanks to Georgia’s prudent and principled foreign policy, our country today stands as a leading state in the region in terms of stability and progress, and Georgian diplomats have played a particularly important role in achieving this – Kobakhidze

Thanks to Georgia’s prudent and principled foreign policy, our country today stands as a leading state in the region in terms of stability and progress, and Georgian diplomats have played a particularly important role in this achievement, said Prime Minister of Georgia in his address at the event dedicated to Diplomat’s Day.

The Head of Government congratulated Georgian diplomats on their professional day and expressed gratitude for their loyal service and professionalism, which contribute to advancing Georgia’s interests, strengthening its foreign policy priorities, and reinforcing the country’s sovereignty.

“Celebrating Diplomat’s Day has become a tradition and it is symbolic that this day is associated with the name of the distinguished Georgian thinker and public figure Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani, whose work laid the foundations for the development of Georgian diplomacy. This year’s event is dedicated to the memory of Akaki Chkhenkeli, the Foreign Minister of the First Republic and an outstanding diplomat.

It is important that Georgian diplomats continue to serve honorably, following the example of such figures, upholding Georgia’s interests, protecting the country’s sovereignty and strengthening Georgia’s positions on the international stage.

The top priority of the Government of Georgia has been and remains de-occupation, the peaceful restoration of territorial integrity, peace and development. These are the answers to all challenges our state faces.

The past five years-and especially the past three-have been full of challenges for our country and our state, and in these circumstances, the role of Georgian diplomats has been exceptional.

We take pride in the fact that during these years, the Georgian diplomatic corps and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have served Georgia"s national interests with principle and dignity. I want to express profound gratitude to each ambassador and every employee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia for their contribution.

Once again, I congratulate our diplomatic corps on this professional day, thank you for your dedicated work and wish you success in your highly responsible mission”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.

Georgian diplomats were also congratulated on their professional day by President of Georgia Mikheil Kavelashvili, Speaker of Parliament Shalva Papuashvili and Minister of Foreign Affairs Maka Botchorishvili. The event was attended by the Mayor of Tbilisi Kakha Kaladze, members of Georgia"s executive and legislative authorities, representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Georgia.
