The CEC summarized the election results

At today’s meeting, the Central Election Commission (CEC) summarized the results of the elections for the Mayor and Tbilisi City Council.

According to the results, the candidate of the Georgian Dream party, Kakha Kaladze, was elected as the Mayor of Tbilisi. He received 215,363 votes, amounting to 71.627% of the total. A total of 324,798 voters participated in the Tbilisi mayoral election.

At the same meeting, the CEC also summarized the results of the proportional elections for the Tbilisi City Council held on 4 October 2025. According to the summary protocol, the total number of participating voters was 325,061. The mandates in the Tbilisi City Council were distributed as follows: Conservatives for Georgia – 1 mandate, Strong Georgia – Lelo – 2 mandates, Girchi – 2 mandates, and Georgian Dream – 20 mandates. As a result of the majoritarian elections, all 25 mandates in the Tbilisi City Council were won by Georgian Dream.

As noted by the CEC Chairperson during today’s meeting, this was one of the most large-scale and complex processes conducted in full compliance with Georgian legislation, ensuring transparency, publicity, and high professional standards. Giorgi Kalandarishvili thanked the voters for their active participation, emphasizing that their engagement and trust represent the main motivation and achievement of the Election Administration (EA). He also expressed gratitude to all institutions and organizations that actively cooperated with the Election Administration - local and international observers, electoral subjects, and the media for their engagement and oversight. Special thanks were extended to the international vendor company Smartmatic, whose support and collaboration contributed, for the second time, to the successful implementation of technology-based elections.

The election results were also summarized nationwide by the District Election Commissions (DECs). According to the summary protocols, the CEC acknowledged the information regarding the individuals elected as mayors and members of municipal councils at today’s meeting. In accordance with the legislation, the authority of newly elected mayors and municipal council members will commence on October 29. Today, the Central Election Commission also adopted an ordinance convening the first sessions of the representative bodies - municipal councils - elected in the elections of October 4, 2025 across Georgia on 30 October at 11:00 a.m. The first session of the Tbilisi City Council will be opened by the CEC Chairperson, Giorgi Kalandarishvili, while in the regions, the sessions will be opened by the respective chairpersons of the District Election Commissions.
