Total number of voters for the October 4 election amounts to 3,513,818

The election administration has finalized the work on the unified voter list. In connection with this, a briefing by the press spokesperson of the Central Election Commission [CEC], Natia Ioseliani, was held today at the CEC.

"As is known to the public, the formation of the unified voter list is carried out based on information provided by various public agencies. We wish to express our gratitude to all administrative bodies for their close cooperation and coordination in this process. Furthermore, we extend our thanks to the voters for their active engagement and for their contribution to the data verification process and the enhancement of the lists` accuracy.

The total number of voters for the October 4th municipal elections amounts to 3,513,818. A total of 3,130,348 voters will participate in the elections using electronic technologies.

This year, for the first time, approximately 47,000 young people will be granted the opportunity to participate in the elections.

The election administration received requests from 60,754 voters for a mobile ballot box.

A total of 3,061 polling stations have been opened nationwide. Voting will be conducted electronically in 2,284 of these stations, while in 777 stations it will be carried out according to the traditional method.

This includes 10 polling stations established as an exception, which have been opened within penitentiary institutions.

From the announcement of the elections until today, voters have verified their data on the unified voter list a total of 600,784 times via the Central Election Commission"s website and mobile application. Furthermore, through quick payment terminals, the data was verified 9,524 times from August 25 to September 16, inclusive. Subsequent to the election administration receiving the lists from all relevant agencies, the aforementioned data were processed, and their division according to electoral districts and precincts was carried out. The unified, updated voter list is currently available to the public on the official website of the CEC.

It is also important to note here that the public version of the voter lists is accessible to registered political parties and to observer organizations as defined by electoral legislation. Voters themselves also have the right to review the public version of the list directly at the polling stations.

Over the course of the election year, the unified voter list was requested from the election administration at various times by five political parties, which confirms that the accessibility of the voter list for the purpose of its verification was in accordance with legislation and international standards", - said Natia Ioseliani.
