President of Georgia congratulated the State Security Service on its 10th anniversary, crediting its professionalism for ensuring Georgia remains a democratic, free, sovereign, and independent nation.

“The fact that today we have a democratic, free, sovereign, and independent country is all thanks to your professionalism.

Without state security, without the sense of security that every citizen feels knowing our country is protected, the development processes that our country enjoys today would, of course, have been impossible.

We see your high achievements and your fight against corruption and terrorism. We know there have been numerous attempts to stage a coup in our country, and how effectively you have managed to thwart them all. This, of course, gives our citizens even greater hope and confidence to stand firmly in this country.

I will take this opportunity to pay tribute to your colleagues who lost their lives in the line of duty. There are heroes who may not be known to the public but who carry out their work with utmost professionalism.

I want to congratulate you on this day and, on behalf of the Georgian population, sincerely thank each and every one of you for ensuring that our country today is sovereign, protected, safe, and attractive to all”, - said Mikheil Kavelashvili.
