
The Regional Policy and Self-Government Committee, within the working meeting, heard the Regional Development Minister, Kakhaber Guledani.
The Minister reviewed the upheld activity and the plans, as well as the priorities and directions that are scheduled.
He informed MPs about his meetings with the Mayors and the Chairs of the City Assemblies and outlined the needs and challenges that the municipalities encounter. He also answered the questions.
“The Minister presented the directives scheduled within the Ministry. The primary objective entails the enhancement of municipalities and regional policy, including the expansion of competencies, infrastructural projects, and decentralisation. This implies the intensification of municipalities’ roles and the advancement of the regional component. It is noteworthy that the Ministry, within its authority, is to coordinate not only with self-government bodies but also with Ministries to effectively implement the planned projects”, - said Irakli Kadagishvili, Chairman of the Committee.
According to him, the Committee aspires to closely cooperate with the newly established Ministry on the legislative level, so, within the oversight function of the Committee.
