The record be introduced to the OSCE PA Annual Report, initiated by the Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee, and the Head of the Parliamentary Delegation to OSCE PA, Nikoloz Samkharadze, calling on the new Government of Syria to annul the recognition of the so-called "independence" of the occupied regions of Georgia - Abkhazia and Tskhinvali region, as well as the territories of Ukraine - Donetsk and Luhansk.
According to the record, the OSCE PA calls on the new Syrian Government to recognize the territorial integrity of Georgia and Ukraine.
"I presume, many of you are not aware that the previous Syrian Government, under the auspices of the Russian Federation, recognised the `independence` of the regions of Georgia—Abkhazia and Tskhinvali—as well as the `independence` of the Ukrainian regions—the People`s Republics of Donetsk and Luhansk. Therefore, it is crucial to record in the Report about Syria that it violates the territorial integrity of two OSCE PA member states—Georgia and Ukraine—and to urge the new Syrian Government to annul the recognition of the so-called independence` of the occupied regions of Georgia—Abkhazia and Tskhinvali—as well as the territories of Ukraine—Donetsk and Luhansk—and to respect and recognise the territorial integrity of Georgia and Ukraine", - he stated.
