Prime Minister of Georgia meets IMO Secretary-General

Prime Minister of Georgia met Arsenio Dominguez, Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organisation [IMO].

The two sides discussed the longstanding successful cooperation between Georgia and the IMO, as well as prospects for future partnership aimed at strengthening the country`s maritime sector.

Special attention was given to the construction of the Anaklia Port and its significance for Georgia’s sustainable economic development. Irakli Kobakhidze emphasized that strengthening the maritime industry remains a key priority for the Government of Georgia.

The IMO Secretary-General highlighted Georgia`s achievements in the digitalization of services, which have contributed significantly to the development of the maritime sector. He noted that Georgia should serve as an example for other countries in this regard.

Both parties expressed readiness to continue close cooperation, including support for the professional development of Georgian seafarers.
