Zviad Ratiani detained for assaulting a police officer

Poet Zviad Ratiani was arrested at a protest rally in front of the Parliament on charges of assaulting a police officer.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, he was detained under Article 353 of the Criminal Code [assaulting a police officer].

The crime is punishable by 4 to 7 years in prison.
