I urge everyone not to make the mistake that opposition has made so many times in the past, we are in favor of entering the struggle. Such a statement made Mamuka Khazaradze, leader of the Lelo party.
“In Georgia, many believe that the political process has shifted away from meaningful dialogue toward petty labelling and personal insults on Facebook. This toxic environment is the root of our current challenges.
Should we boycott or participate in the upcoming elections? We have made our stance clear. We are on the front lines and committed to actively joining the fight. We believe that achieving new elections and securing the release of political prisoners will be more attainable if we also defeat the government in local elections. 5 cities have already been won, though that’s a topic for further discussion - others may see it differently. Currently, we are engaging with the mothers of political prisoners, activists on Rustaveli Avenue, and citizens committed to fostering a normal, constructive dialogue.
When I refer to the format, I mean continuing what was initiated last year - the cooperation between parties that signed the agreement and formed the 4 coalitions that won the elections. Our goal is to carry on within that framework”, - said Mamuka Khazaradze.
