Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze met with Senator Steve Daines, Member of the US Senate Committee on Foreign Relations.

The conversation in the meeting focused on US-Georgia relations, Georgia`s role in the region, and the political situation in the country.

The Prime Minister reiterated the Georgian Government`s commitment to resetting relations with the US and resuming strategic partnership to be based on a concrete roadmap and designed to bring tangible results to both countries.

Emphasis was laid on Georgia`s significant role in ensuring regional peace and stability, also the country`s transit potential.

As Irakli Kobakhidze pointed out, Georgia offers its partners considerable opportunities in terms of access to multimillion markets.

In the meeting, attention was also paid to ongoing political processes. The Head of Government underlined that political stability is ensured in the country, with Georgia`s authorities as its guarantors.

The meeting was attended by Georgia`s First Vice Prime Minister/Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili, Foreign Minister Maka Bochorishvili, and Head of the Government Administration Levan Zhorzholiani.
