Georgian authorities have a sovereign right to assess the risk factors regarding a foreigner`s entry

Georgian authorities have a sovereign right to assess the risk factors regarding a foreigner`s entry. Such a statement was released today by the Polish Embassy in Georgia.

"Due to the numerous cases of foreigners refusal of entry into Georgia, including citizens of the European Union Member States, before traveling to this country, please consider whether in your individual case there are factors that increase the risk of being denied entry: they may include participation in demonstrations or staying in near them, as well as a certain activity in social media.

We remind you, that the Georgian authorities have a sovereign right to assess the risk factors regarding a foreigner`s entry, and the decision to refuse entry may also apply to holders of an important Georgian residence permit.

We should also note that for participating - albeit alleged - in the demonstrations foreigners may be fined with high fines, and re-entry to Georgia may entail the necessity to make payment immediately", - reads the statement of the Embassy.
