Georgia sets new historical high in Good Government Index, moves up to 12th globally in transparency

Georgia has reached a new historic high in the Chandler Good Government Index [GGI], scoring 61% on a 100-point scale.

This marks the country’s best performance to date and reflects significant progress in government effectiveness and transparency.

Notably, Georgia has advanced to 12th place globally in the transparency category.

The GGI evaluates national governments based on 35 indicators consolidated into seven key pillars: Leadership and Foresight, Robust Laws and Policies, Strong Institutions, Financial Stewardship, Attractive Marketplace, Global Influence and Reputation, and Helping People Rise.

The Georgian Government received particularly high international rankings in the following indicators:

Transparency - 12th place
Leadership and Foresight - 32nd place
Long-term Vision - 16th place
Adaptability - 11th place
Coordination - 24th place
Quality of Judiciary - 27th place
Quality of Bureaucracy - 25th place
Stable Business Regulations - 15th place
Attracting Investment - 4th place

The GGI is produced by the Chandler Institute. The European Commission publishes the index annually as part of its broader assessment of global governance, peace, and justice institutions. The report is based on data and analyses from globally recognized organizations including the UN, World Bank, International Monetary Fund, World Economic Forum, etc.
