The Regions of Mtskheta-Mtianeti, Shida Kartli, Samtskhe-Javakheti, Guria, and Kvemo Kartli have new State Representatives.

At the decision of Georgian Prime Minister, Alexandre Zagashvili now holds the office of State Representative in Mtskheta-Mtianeti, Simon Guledani in Shida Kartli, Zaal Gelashvili in Samtskhe-Javakheti, Giorgi Ghurjumelidze in Guria, and Levan Kharabadze in Kvemo Kartli.

Irakli Kobakhidze, together with Minister of Regional Development Kakha Guledani, met with the newly appointed State Representative at the Government Administration. The Prime Minister pointed out the special importance of regional development, also adding that the establishment of the Ministry of Regional Development as a standalone institution speaks to the preeminence of this matter, among others.

According to the Head of Government, even greater attention will be paid to the effective implementation of projects linked to the development of regions, and it is of paramount importance in this process that the regions have leaders distinguished for their experience, professionalism, and conscientiousness.

The Prime Minister also drew attention to the need of upgrading the quality of projects and bettering coordination, wishing success to the new State Representatives in conclusion.

Mtskheta-Mtianeti State Representative Alexandre Zagashvili has years-long experience working in the public and private sectors alike. At different times, he worked as Technical Manager of the Borjomi HPP LLC Project. In 2017-2021, Zagashvili served as Kazbegi Municipality Mayor, also as Technical Director of Archmaster, and Chief Architect of York Towers.

Previously, Shida Kartli State Representative Simon Guledani worked as First Deputy Mayor of the Gori Municipality. At different times, he served as First Deputy State Representatives in the Municipalities of Gori, Kaspi, Kareli, and Khashuri, as Head of the Tetritskaro Municipality"s Infrastructural Development, Architecture, and Construction Services, also as Head of the Tetritskaro Municipality’s Financial and Budget Service and the Supervision Service.

Up to now, Samtskhe-Javakheti State Representative Zaal Gelashvili worked as Head of the Supervision Service of the Bakuriani Development Agency LEPL of the Borjomi Municipality. He has also held various positions at the Interior Ministry"s General Inspection.

Since 2021, Guria State Representative Giorgi Ghurjumelidze worked as the Ozurgeti Municipality’s First Deputy Mayor. At different times, he also held the positions of Deputy Governor and Deputy Chairman of the Municipal Assembly of the Ozurgeti Municipality.

Up to now, Kvemo Kartli State Representative Levan Kharabadze served as Shida Kartli State Representative. At different times, he held the positions of Deputy Chief of Guria and Samtskhe-Javakheti Police, Deputy Chief of Mtskheta-Mtianeti Police, and Deputy Chief of Regional Police of Adjara, also having held various offices in Tbilisi’s Police Department.
