Parliament of Georgia to discuss today the Law on Grants

The Parliament of Georgia will discuss today, April 15, the Law on Grants.

According to the draft law, the right to issue grants will be granted to a public legal entity determined by the Government of Georgia, whose charter aims to support public organizations.

Additionally, a provision will be added to the Law on Grants, which authorizes the head of the specified public legal entity to issue normative and/or individual administrative-legal acts as needed.

The amendment stems from a government objective outlined in its program to support civil initiatives. A budget allocation of 20 million GEL is planned for this purpose in the current year. The amendments will be enacted after the President signs them into law.
