Prime Minister of Georgia together with President Mikheil Kavelashvili, introduced Sulkhan Tamazashvili, the newly appointed Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, to local government representatives.
The Head of Government spoke about key projects implemented in Adjara in recent years and emphasized the importance of their continued development. Irakli Kobakhidze expressed gratitude to Tornike Rizhvadze for his service and wished Sulkhan Tamazashvili every success in his new role as Chairman of the Government of Adjara.
“Today, the new Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara was approved. I would like to congratulate Sulkhan on this new, very responsible and important position. Sulkhan is an outstanding professional with extensive experience, primarily in law enforcement agencies. Working in law-enforcement provides a person with unique expertise, which is particularly valuable for managerial and governance activities. We are fully confident that Sulkhan will be a successful Head of Local Government”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
Speeches were also delivered by the President of Georgia Mikheil Kavelashvili, the outgoing Chairman of the Government of Adjara Tornike Rizhvadze, the newly appointed Chairman Sulkhan Tamazashvili and the Chairman of the Supreme Council of Adjara David Gabaidze.
The meeting was attended by members of the Parliament of Georgia, the Government and Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, and mayors of municipalities across Adjara.
